Xiaomi has launched the company’s latest affordable 4G smartphone in India – Xiaomi Redmi 4A at a price tag of Rs. 5,999. The smartphone comes in Gray, Gold and Rose colours and available exclusively on Amazon.in & Mi.com starting from 23rd March. The Rose Gold version will be available from 6th April. Originally, the smartphone launched in China for 499 Yuan

Display, Processor, Memory And Operating System:
On the specifications front, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A features 5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and it is powered by 1.4GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor which is paired with Adreno 308 GPU & 2GB of RAM. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with MIUI 8.0 on top of it and comes with support for dual apps feature which means you can use two WhatsApp accounts on one device. The smartphone has 16GB inbuilt memory which can be expanded further up to 128GB via microSD card.
Camera:
On the photography front, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A features 13-megapixel rear-camera with 5-lens system, f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, LED flash, 5-lens system, and 5MP front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture for selfie & video-calling.
SIM Card, Connectivity And Sensors:
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes with Hybrid dual-SIM card support and has connectivity features like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS + GLONASS. Talking about the sensors, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes with an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, infrared, and proximity.
Dimensions & Weight:
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A sports polycarbonate body and measures 139.5×70.4×8.5mm. It weighs in at 131.5 grams.
Battery:
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A packs 3120mAh battery with fast charging support and offers 7 days of standby time.
Competitors:
At such a price tag, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A will compete with Moto E3 Power, Samsung Galaxy J1 4G, and few others.
Launch Event Highlights:
At the launch event, Mr. Manu Jain said that the company will be starting its second manufacturing plant in India at SriCity and it is owned & operated by Foxconn. In addition to this, with the second manufacturing unit, the company has a capacity of producing one smartphone per minute and 95% of the Mi Phones sold in India are Made in India. Xiaomi also claimed that they have 30 percent market share in the market when it comes to online sales.
