Xiaomi has launched the company’s latest smartphone – Xiaomi Redmi 5 in India at a starting price tag of Rs. 7,999. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 comes in Black, Gold, Rose Gold & Lake Blue color and the smartphone will be available exclusively on Amazon.in, Mi.com & Mi Home Stores starting from March 20th, 2018. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 comes in three variants – 2GB RAM with 16GB internal storage variant cost Rs. 7,999, 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage variant cost Rs. 8,999, and the 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage variant cost Rs. 10,999. The company is bundling a clear case in the box and there are number of launch offers like Rs. 2200 cashback offer from Reliance Jio and 100GB additional 4G data for Reliance Jio customers, 5% cashback with SBI Credit Cards on Amazon and Mi.com, and 90% (up to Rs. 400) discount on Kindle eBook. Originally, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 was introduced back in China last year, and it is the successor of Xiaomi Redmi 4, that was launched last year in India.

On the specifications front, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 features 5.7-inch HD+ 18:9 Full-Screen display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor which is paired with Adreno 506 GPU & 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat with MIUI 9 on top of it and the smartphone has 16GB/32GB/64GB internal storage which can be expanded further up to 128GB via microSD card.

On the photography front, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 features 12-megapixel rear camera with 1.25μm pixel size sensor, phase detection autofocus and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with selfie flash.
