A research firm Strategy Analytics in its latest report said that the China-based manufacturer Xiaomi is the most preferred smartphone upgrade choice for Indian consumers in 2017. According to the report, a survey conducted on 2000 buyers out of which 26 percent preferred Xiaomi as their next smartphone brand while the Samsung and Apple are preferred by 12 percent, 7 percent preferred Motorola, 6 percent preferred Lenovo & OnePlus while the 2 percent preferred Micromax.
According to the report, Xiaomi has four models in the top-20 list out of 200 best-selling smartphone models in India. Consumers preferred the smartphone based on the factors like online availability, network, speed and chipset performance by outranking features like camera, screen size and resolution.
In India, all Xiaomi smartphones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and are optimized for India-specific bands for the most efficient usage of 4G/LTE.
According to analyst firm IDC, Xiaomi India has become the number one selling smartphone brand in the online market, with 29.3 percent share, and the second largest smartphone brand in India with 10.7 percent market share in Q4 2016.
