Nikon India has announced the winners of Shorts On Nikon contest and the campaign was launched with a teaser on 31st August, 2015 which was officially rolled out on 4th September, 2015. If you do not know, Shorts On Nikon is a property for Nikon india which engages with the upcoming independent short film makers and aimed at promoting filmmaking in India.
Mr. Kazuo Ninomiya, Managing Director, Nikon India Pvt. Ltd. commented:

We aim at connecting on a more direct level with our audience by providing them a platform to explore their potential around filmmaking. With this initiative, we are reaching to a new set of enthusiasts and helping them unleash all the functionality of the best in class technology that our cameras are equipped with.”

The winning entry – ‘Smudge’ and first runner up entry – ‘Roshni’, both are work of excellence and filmmakers creativity are showcased in well perceived manner. ‘Smudge’ revolves around thriller with a twist based taking real life incidents as cue and on the other hand ‘Roshni’ is an emotional and heart-warming story of a mother and son relationship. We would like to congratulate both Mr. Abhilash (Smudge) and Mr. Harkeerat (Roshni) on winning the contest and we are hopeful, to see more work coming from them”.
The campaign created a lot of buzz in the digital space and gaming an overwhelming response, the contest was open till 20th October, 2015. The Shorts On Nikon contest is about exploring the short film maker community in India. The campaign received an impressive response with an outreach to 8,00,000+ audience in the digital space who had interest in short film making. It received 150+ submissions which were shot using a Nikon camera. 17 best films were shortlisted with the help of the technical officers at Nikon and were showcased on the Nikon India Facebook page.
