Huawei has launched the company’s latest smartphone – Huawei P9 at a price tag of . In this price segment it will compete with number of smartphones. In this post, I’m comparing it with flagship killer – OnePlus 3 smartphone. The OnePlus 3 costs US $489.99 while the Huawei P9 costs US $469.99 for the 3GB RAM 32GB memory variant.

Display:
OnePlus 3 features 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and protected by 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The Huawei P9 features 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. When it comes to display side, the OnePlus 3 is the winner as AMOLED produces the most pleasing Colours pop, blacks are inky, whites are clean and the vibrancy allows colours to jump off the screen. In addition to this, the OnePlus 3 introduces a Dark Mode that cleverly increases the warmth of the colour temperature.

Processor:
The OnePlus 3 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor (dual-core 2.15GHz Kryo and dual-core 1.6GHz Kryo) and it is paired with Adreno 530 GPU. The Huawei P9 is powered by Kirin 955 processor (quad-core 2.5Ghz Cortex-A72 and quad-core 1.8Ghz Cortex A-53) and it is paired with Mali-T880 GPU. On AnTuTu, OnePlus 3 scores 140481 while the Huawei P9 scores 98,008. As you can see, OnePlus 3 outperforms Huawei P9.

Memory:
The OnePlus 3 has 6GB of RAM and 64GB in-built memory while the Huawei P9 comes in two variant – 3GB RAM & 32GB in-built memory and other one 4GB RAM & 64GB in-built memory. The in-built memory on Huawei P9 can be expanded further by using microSD card while on OnePlus there is no way by which you can expand the memory. The OnePlus 3 has bigger RAM & 64GB in-built memory which is far more better when compared to Huawei P9.

Camera:
The OnePlus 3 features 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Sony IMX298 sensor, 1.12 micron pixel size, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, OIS, 4K video recording at 30 fps, 720p slow motion at 120fps. OnePlus 3 has 8MP front-facing camera with Sony IMX179 sensor, 1.4 micron pixel size, f/2.0 aperture, 1080p video recording. The Huawei P9 features 12MP dual rear cameras with Leica SUMMARIT lenses, dual-tone LED flash, Laser AF, f/2.2 aperture and 8MP front-facing camera, f/2.4 aperture. Talking about the camera, Huawei P9 uses the Leica Camera technology and it lacks optical image stabilisation. The OnePlus 3 camera outperforms Huawei P9 in terns of image quality. Operating System
The OnePlus 3 runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system with Oxygen OS 3.0 on top of it while the Huawei P9 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Emotion UI 4.1 on top of it. The Huawei Emotion UI is overly gimmicky and it there is no dedicated app drawer.

Battery:
The OnePlus 3 packs 3,000mAh battery and comes with Dash Charge technology while the Huawei P9 packs 3,000mAh and comes with fast charging technology. The Dash Charge technology of OnePlus 3 charges the phone up to 50-60 percent in just half an hour and it has the potential to enter second day too. The Huawei P9 battery performs decent.
