Microsoft Research released a new app – Network Speed Test. This app checks the speed of your cellular & Wi-Fi network and give you detailed information about the upload and download speeds of your internet connections. In addition to this, it also maintains a history of internet connections you’ve tested for any comparison.
Microsoft is using the app to collect anonymous data about network quality and availability at the same time, which may include location data if you agree. The data we collect is not associated with you, and will not be used to find or contact you or for other purposes like targeted marketing. It is a free app for Windows Phone 8 and it can be downloaded from here.
