Earlier today, Microsoft owned Nokia has launched the Lumia 630 in India at an initial price of INR 10,500 for single SIM variant and 11,500 for Dual-SIM variant and it is available from May 16th. It is the first dual-SIM phone that comes with latest Windows Phone OS – Windows Phone 8.1 and that an affordable price. Lumia 630 is definitely the real competitor to Android powered Motorola Moto G.
Microsoft brings its first Windows Phone at a reasonable price and these two phones (Lumia 630 and Moto G) are remarkably similar in specifications but runs on different operating system.
Design
The Lumia 630 measures 127.5 x 66.7 x 9.2 mm and weighs 134 gram while the Motorola Moto G measures 129.9 x 65.9 x11.6 mm with curved back & weighs 143 gram. Both devices comes with changeable covers so you can easily swap them depending on your mood. The Motorola Moto G is slightly slick and thicker at the centre when compared with Lumia 630.
Display
Both devices have 4.5-inch display and both protected with Corning Gorilla Glass. The Lumia 630 features a 854 x 480 pixel resolution at 214ppi while the Motorola Moto G features 1,280 x 720 pixel display at 326ppi.
The Motorola Moto G will offer finer details & everything look sharper and crisper when compared with Lumia 630.
Processor & Memory
Both devices powered by 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset. The Lumia 630 has 512MB RAM while the Motorola Moto G has 1GB RAM.
The Lumia 630 has in-built storage of 8GB and it is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card while the Motorola Moto G comes with 8GB/16GB on board storage and there is no option to extend the memory on Motorola Moto G.
Camera
Both devices features a similar camera on the back, there is a 5MP rear-camera with autofocus & LED flash and offer 720p video capture. Lumia 630 doesn’t have front-facing while the Motorola Moto G offers 1.3MP front-camera. However, the Lumia 630 comes with lot of great features and has plenty of additional apps while the Motorola Moto G has basic camera app.
Operating System
Apart from hardware similarities, it’s about the software that sets both devices apart. Both devices comes with the latest version of their respective operating system, Windows Phone 8.1 with Nokia Cyan on the Lumia 630 while the Android 4.4.2 KitKat on the Motorola Moto G.
Although, the Windows Phone 8.1 software is still in beta but it brings new features like the new Action Centre rivals the notification bar and has fastest keyboard while the Android 4.4.2 KitKat has much more features.
