Lenovo has announced that they sole one million units of 4G smartphone in India through Flipkart as of June 2015. This includes Lenovo A600, Lenovo A6000Plus and Lenovo A7000. In a price segment under Rs. 10,000 Lenovo faces tough competition with several entrants that offer 4G smartphone.
Commenting on the new achievement, Sudhin Mathur, Director – Lenovo smartphones said:
“As a technology first company, Lenovo continues to push the market threshold for newer devices. Apart from providing great devices, our partnership with Flipkart gave consumers in more than 1000 cities/towns across the countries access to our 4G smartphone portfolio. Beyond the metros, we’ve seen also seen a good uptake in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh.”
Amitesh Kumar Jha, VP – Retail, Flipkart said:
“A great portfolio of 4G devices enabled by the Flipkart-Lenovo partnership should lead to a faster adoption of 4G in India. Flipkart currently leads the 4G adoption with about 60% share of LTE devices sold in the country led by Lenovo’s devices. We are looking forward to take this further in the coming months.”
Lenovo launched the A6000 back in January and it is the first affordable 4G smartphone from company in India. Later it was replaced by Lenovo A6000 Plus and after that Lenovo has sold he 3 Lakh units of the A6000 in just two months just after the launch. According to Lenovo, the Lenovo A6000 is one of the most successful 4G smartphone in India.
