LG Electronics has announced that Mr. Kim Ki-Wan will be the Managing Director of its India operations starting August 01, 2015. Earlier he is the executive Vice President of LG’s Home Entertainment Overseas Sales & Marketing Group. Mr. Kim has more than 30 years of work experience at LG and some of the past assignments include being the CEO of MEA Regional company & Global Marketing Officer at LG Electronics.
Speaking of his tenure in India, Mr. Kwon said,
‘In my endeavor to leverage the synergies of the Indian business, LG India has today grown to be among the Top 5 markets globally for LG Electronics, and maintains its leadership position in consumer durables. I congratulate Mr. Kim on his appointment and am sure under his leadership; LG India will ensure stronger growth for the company’.
Right now, Mr. Kwon is the Managing Director and under his leadership LG has strengthened its market leadership in consumer durables. After a successful 5 year work period Mr. Kwon will shift to LG’s Korea HQ to play a key role in its stated goal of strengthening the B2B business and it includes commercial displays. In new role, Mr. Kim will build a strong foundation which was laid by Mr. Kwon, in India.
