HTC is looking to improve its marketing strategy to promote the Taiwanese company’s smartphone brand. HTC has enlisted Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr., to promote HTC’s phones. WoW! Iron Man and the metal-clad HTC One will feature impressive together.
Bloomberg reports that RDJ will feature in the campaign as himself, not the characters he plays in movies including Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes. The company will likely feature RDJ in television, print and billboard ads. Hiring one of Hollywood’s top celebrities will help HTC to regain its position in smartphone market share. The move should definitely give the company a quick boost in public exposure.
Even though HTC and Robert Downey Jr.’s agency have yet to confirm the deal. But the report claims that RDJ will promote smartphones from HTC for a two-year global marketing deal worth about $12 million.
“We have nothing to announce today on a new marketing campaign, anyone with a penchant for metal should be able to appreciate its (HTC one)appeal.”” Sally Julien, a spokeswoman for HTC, wrote in an e-mail.
It will be very exciting to watch RDJ aka Iron Man promoting metal-clad HTC One. Although, RDJ will feature in the campaign as himself, which is just as awesome.
