How To Use Instagram Direct to Send Photo and Video to a Select Group of People

Instagram introduced a new feature named Instagram Direct that lets you choose who you send photos and videos to. Instagram Direct is a whole new way to send photo and video messages to friends. Now users can make connection based private chat on Instagram on mutual friendship. Instagram version 5.0 with Instagram Direct feature is now available for iOS and Android on iTunes and Google Play Store respectively.

Instagram Direct allows users to send a photo or video to a select group of people that won’t appear in feed, search or your profile. With the updated version, when you open Instagram, you’ll now see a new icon in the top right corner of your home feed. Tap it to open your inbox where you’ll see photos and videos that people have sent to you. To send a photo or video, once you’ve finished editing a photo in Instagram, you’ll see two new tabs on the top of the post: Followers and Direct. You can select any option how you want to share your photo and video.

Here is step-by-step process to use Instagram Direct to send photos and videos to a selected group of people and your friends:

First of all you have to update your Instagram to version 5.0 to use direct feature.

Step 1- Take a new photo/video or upload a photo/video from your camera roll.

Step 3- Tap Direct to send your stuffs to a select group of people. Once you’ve finished editing a photo in Instagram, you’ll see two new tabs on the top of the post: Followers and Direct. You’ll see some features appear in green when you’re using Instagram Direct.Screenshot_2013-12-19-11-52-48

Step 4- Tap the names of people you want to send the photo/video to (up to 15 people).

With Direct, you can choose a specific friend and type a special message, and that goes only to your friend. You will also be able to see the notifications to find out who’s seen your photo or video, see who’s liked it and also watch your recipients commenting in real-time as the conversation unfolds.
