Google is reportedly very busy with finishing up the development of its next version of mobile OS Android, as well as developing several Android based devices on its own, without OEM branding.
According to the report from WSJ, the next version of Android is known internally as “K release”, so it should be the long-rumored Key Lime Pie. Google is planning to release the new version of Android this fall. It is still unclear if Key Lime Pie is Android 4.3, or Android 5.0. The next Android iteration Key Lime Pie will be “better tailored to the lower-cost smartphones”. Over the time, Google has changed its “compatibility” restrictions to allow for more device types.
According to the report, Google is even developing an Android based video game console and wristwatch powered by its Android operating system. Google is also preparing to release a second version of an Android-powered home entertainment media-streaming device, called Nexus Q, that was unveiled last year in mid-2012 but not sold to the public.
We are taking this as a rumored report, Google has declined to comment on this. Stay tuned for more details.
