Google has updated Google Play Books app with vertical scrolling experience for comics in landscape mode. The update will be rolled out to Android users in the next few days in the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, India, Singapore, Ireland, New Zealand and South Africa. For iOS, it will be rolled out sooner.
The landscape mode offer bettering reading experience on phone or tablet and you can use your device in landscape more & easily scroll though the story with quick vertical swipes.
Apart from this, Google also added new comics section and curated series of pages for comics on the Google Play Store. The Google Play Store is organized into volumes, issues & other editions of the top comic series and offers new personalized recommendations for similar series and it includes – The Walking Dead, Justic League, Deadpool and Moral Kombat.
Google is offering several free comics books and as of now it is not open in India but you will get all these free comic book in India sooner. The free comics book includes The X-Files, Lazarus, and Jem and the Holograms.
