Not All Apple Devices be able to Update to iOS 7 with Complete Features

iOS 7, the latest mobile OS from Apple brings many new features, upgrades and improvements. The latest version of the softwareoffers many new features, including AirDrop, iTunes Radio, new camera and photo filters etc. However, iOS 7 will not work with all of Apple’s old devices.

iOS 7

iOS 7 will be available only for the iPhone 4 and later, the iPad 2 and later, the iPad Mini, and lastly, the fifth generation of the iPod Touch. iPhone 3GS and the fourth-generation iPod Touch will not enjoy the iOS 7 party.

However, as normally happens with Apple, not all of the features found on iOS 7 will be available for all of the supported devices, many of the older iDevices that are getting it, won’t be getting the full set of features. To help you quickly identify what features your iDevice will be getting we’ve got a handy table. Take a look at what new features will arrive to older iOS devices and which just won’t make it.

Updated Siri  iTunes Radio    AirDrop     Panorama Square photos Camera filters  Photo filters
 iPhone 4           –           +          –          –         +          –          +
 iPhone 4S           +           +          –          +         +          –          +
 iPhone 5           +           +          +          +         +          +          +
 iPod touch 5G           +           +          +          +         +          +          +
 iPad 2           –           +          –          –          –          –          –
 iPad 3           +           +          –          –         +          –          +
 iPad 4           +           +          +          –         +          +          +
 iPad mini           +           +          +          –         +          –          +

As you can see, the iPad 2 has the fewest supported features, only getting iTunes Radio, that feature is available to all. The file-sharing service AirDrop, for example, will work only on the iPhone 5, the fifth-generation iPod Touch, the fourth-generation iPad, and the iPad Mini. Only those with the iPhone 5 or the fifth-generation iPod Touch will get filter effects directly from the camera.
