In an event in New Delhi, Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 4 in India at a starting price tag of Rs. 9,999 while the top end variant cost Rs. 12,999. The starting pricing of base variant of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 & Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is same. For your information, back in March 2016, Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 3 in India and it is the best selling smartphone online till date, according to IDC. The Redmi Note 4 comes with some new features and making it better version and worth upgrade over Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. The XIaomi Redmi Note 3 comes in two variant – 2GB RAM with 16GB inbuilt memory while the other variant is 3GB RAM with 32GB inbuilt memory. Design:

Both the smartphone has a unibody metal design and looks almost identical. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes with 2.5D curved glass and it has chamfered edges on the metal chassis while there is nothing as such on XIaomi Redmi Note 3. Just like Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, the back panel of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has the camera lens, LED flash & fingerprint sensor. When placed together, one more thing you will notice that XIaomi Redmi Note 4 is slightly curved and antenna bands are clearly visible. Above all, the speaker grill which is on the back on XIaomi Redmi Note 3 is now placed at the bottom along with microUSB port.

Both the smartphone comes with 5.5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at a pixel density of 403ppi. The only difference is that the XIaomi Redmi Note 4 comes with a 2.5D curved display which makes it more elegant & premium.

Processor and GPU:

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 650 hexacore processor (two Cortex A-72 cores and four Cortex A-53 cores) paired with Adreno 510 GPU. The XIaomi Redmi Note 4 is powered by 2.0 Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor which is paired with Adreno 506 GPU.

RAM and Storage:

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes in two variant – 2GB RAM with 16GB inbuilt memory while the other variant is 3GB RAM with 32GB inbuilt memory. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes in three variant – 2GB RAM with 32GB inbuilt, 3GB RAM with 32GB inbuilt memory and 4GB RAM with 64GB inbuilt memory.

Both the smartphone has Hybrid Dual SIM card support and by using microSD card slot you can further expand the memory up to 128GB.

Camera:

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0, PDAF and dual-tone LED flash while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0, PDAF, dual-tone LED Flash. Talking about front camera, both the smartphone comes with 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 and supports Full HD video recording.

Operating system:

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top of it while the XIaomi Redmi Note 3 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system with MIUI 7 on top of it.

Connectivity:

Both the smartphone has connectivity features like 4G LTE with VoLTE HD voice calling support, dual-SIM card slots, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, and GPS.

Battery:

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 packs 4,100mAh battery while the XIaomi Redmi Note 3 packs 4,050mAh battery.

Which One Should I Buy?

Clearly no doubt, the XIaomi Redmi Note 4 is a better buy in the sub 10k segment as it comes with design tweaks, 2.5D curved glass, bigger battery and new color options.
