Along with Xiaomi Mi3, Xiaomi has also launched the Redmi 1S in India at an initial price of Rs. 6,999 and at the same price Motorola Moto E and Micromax Unite 2 A106 doing well in India. It is an entry-level smartphone which will compete with other smartphones in the sub 7K range. It is available in range of colors and would go on sale in India soon, exclusively through Flipkart.

On the specifications front, Xiaomi Redmi 1S features 4.7-inch HD IPS display with resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels at 312ppi and it is powered by 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8228) processor with Adreno 305 GPU. It has 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory out of which only 4.47 user available, internal memory can be expanded further up to 64GB.

It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean based MIUI ROM. Like Motorola Moto E and Micromax Unite 2 A106, it is a dual-SIM device with dual standby.
On the imaging front, it has 8-megapixel rear-camera with LED flash f/2.2 aperture and 1.6MP front-facing camera.
It has connectivity options like 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, Wi-Fi Direct, WLAN, Bluetooth, USB OTG and Micro-USB.
It is fuelled with 2,000mAh battery and according to Xiaomi, it works well.
