WeChat has added a new group video calling features in its mobile apps on Android & iOS. The latest update allow you to make free video calls with upto 9 users using the mobile app.
Commenting on the launch of the group video and voice calling feature, Nilay Arora, Country Head & Vice President – Marketing and Business Development for WeChat India said:
“WeChat has always strived to introduce innovative features for its users. With the launch of Video Call for Groups feature, we hope to add more value to our users’ communication needs. Users can have group video calling in real-time with a single tap on WeChat. School and college buddies can connect face to face instantly and so can the office teams on WeChat.”
Users can start a video call in a group chat with up to nine people or can choose audio only for group voice calls. To use this feature one can simply click the + menu and select “Video Call” within a group chat and choose members to join. As soon as members accept the invite & can start chatting. In addition to this, you can also choose the turn off “video” for a group voice call.
Apart from this, WeChat a.so added Group Notices where group owners can edit a group notice for group members. To send group notice within a group chat, you will have to click the profile Icon in the upper right corner & tap “Group Notice” and then create a text post so that all members in the group chat will be notified with a special alert.
