Earlier Samsung unveiled Galaxy S5 and already in previous post I compared Samsung Galaxy S5 with Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy S4 & Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Apple iPhone 5S and now in this post I’m comparing Samsung Galaxy S5 with iPhone 5S along with discounted pricing. The most obvious differences between two devices are, the Samsung Galaxy S5 sports a plastic body, it has larger screen whereas the Apple iPhone 5s features a smaller screen and has a metal band around the edge.
Design
The Samsung Galaxy S5 has soft-touch design with textured dots strewn across the backside for extra grip whereas the Apple iPhone 5S is made up of two-tone aluminium and glass back. The Samsung Galaxy S5 measures 5.59 x 2.85 x 0.32-inches, whereas the Apple iPhone measures 4.87 x 2.31 x 0.3-inches.
Display
The Samsung Galaxy S5 features a 5.1-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels whereas the Apple iPhone 5S features a 4-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels. The Samsung Galaxy S5 packs an ambient light sensor that will automatically adjust your brightness and contrast ratio based on your surroundings whereas the Apple iPhone 5s show limitations.
Processor And Memory
The Samsung Galaxy S5 powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 CPU with 2GB of RAM and has internal storage of 16GB/32Gb but it is expandable to 64GB via microSD card whereas the Apple iPhone 5S powered by Apple’s dual-core 1.3GHz 64-bit A7 processor with 1GB of RAM and has internal storage of 16GB/32GB/64GB.
Operating System
The Samsung Galaxy S5 ships with Android 4.4.2 KitKat featuring Samsung’s TouchWiz skin, immersive mode for viewing full-screen content without any distractions., Samsung’s S Health fitness app has been refreshed which now lets you measure your heart rate by simply placing your finger on a monitor next to the phone’s rear LED flash. The app will use your heart rate to give you workout suggestions mid-routine, and will sync with your Gear 2, Gear Neo or Gear Fit watch. The Apple iPhone 5S runs on iOS 7, which brings a minimalist design and several new apps to Apple’s flagship. The Control Center provides an Android settings menu for adjusting brightness and Wi-Fi with a few quick swipes, while the new Notification Center puts all of your appointments and messages on a single screen. Apple’s virtual assistant Siri now provides a wider range of answers, and the revamped Safari app makes Web browsing on the iPhone an easier, cleaner experience.
Camera
The Samsung Galaxy S5 features a 16-MP rear camera with autofocus speed of 0.3 seconds, real-time HDR for capturing natural light and colour and 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera whereas the Apple iPhone 5S features a 8-megapixel rear camera with dual LED True Tone flash and 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera with FaceTime lens.
Battery
The Samsung Galaxy S5 packs 2800mAh battery and it come with battery saver mode, which brings the power usage down to the absolute minimum when activated whereas the Apple iPhone 5S packs 1560mAh battery and it lasts for weeks on standby.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 looks better when compared with Apple iPhone 5S. The Samsung Galaxy S5 has sharper screen, better camera and dynamic fingerprint reader when compared with Apple iPhone 5S.
