YU has launched the affordable 4G LTE smartphone – YUNIQUE in India at a price tag of Rs. 4,999. It will go on sale on September 15th, 2015 at 12 noon exclusively on Snapdeal. The phone is available only for those who have registered for it and the registrations will end today at 8 P.M. As a promotional offer, YU has also partnered with Airtel to provide double data offer i.e. any new 4G Airtel sim activated will be eligible for an equivalent GB of data free, valid for 6 months. This offer will get activated from the day a consumer activates a new 4 G sim on YUNIQUE.


On the specifications front, it features 4.7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels at 312 PPI. It is powered by Quad-Core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor which is paired with Adreno 306 GPU & 1GB of RAM. It runs on stock Android 5.1 Lollipop and it doesn’t run on Cyanogen OS on top of it. If you want to run Cyanogen OS on top of it, the you can head to YU service centres to upgrade it for free. Above all, flushable ROM will be available in future. It has 8GB in-built memory which can be expanded further up to 32GB by using microSD card.

On the imaging front, it features 8-megapixel rear-camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie & video-calling.

It has dual-SIM support and connectivity features like 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS.

It packs 2000mAh battery.

According to a press note, YU is also working on its service model offline, which makes it more comfortable for the first time users & elevate the experience. After pioneering the ‘Onsite Doorstep Service’ in 283 cities, wherein it provides replacement for in warranty customers and COD option for out warranty customers, the 2nd phase of our Service journey to elevate experience of the customer YU is also introducing over 825 Authorized Service Centres across more than 600 cities wherein customers can walk in for Software Support, drop their Handsets and get replacement handsets at their Door Step. This service will be soon extended to all YU devices.
