Hike Messenger has announced the biggest update in their app and it is upgraded to version 4.0. This update is aimed to redefine the consumer experience in the instant messaging space and the latest release of Hike 4.0 is available for Android users on Google Play Store starting today while the Apple users on iOS App Store will get the update next week.

Commenting on the launch of hike 4.0 Kavin Bharti Mittal CEO & Founder hike said

“We’re extremely excited to bring hike 4.0 to the market. It’s been 6 months in the making and it’s a really big update from it’s predecessors. One can immediately tell the difference on how quick 4.0 is within a few minutes of using it and with the update we’ve also brought a ton of new features to the market including Sticker Suggestions, 100 MB files, Photo Filters amongst a host of others. We can’t wait for users across India to upgrade to hike 4.0.”

When compared with older version Hike 4.0 is 5x times faster and the 4.0 version is designed for the next billion Indian consumers who will experience the internet for the first time. The good thing about the app is that is that it has been optimised for low-end phones too and specifically for extremely poor network conditions.
The latest release will bring the beautiful new design including 10+ new features such as Sticker Suggestions, that recommends stickers as you type allowing you to easily express yourself in a diverse catalogue of over 5000 stickers on Hike. Above all, Hike also allows up to 500 members in a single Group Chat and also introduced the ability to have multiple admins in a Group Chat to manage groups better, making it extremely easy for managing big groups on Hike.

The 4G penetration in India is increasing and Hike has introduced the ability to transfer any kind of file whether it is documents, PDF, ZIP & all other kinds of files up to 100MB each, it directly turns Hike into a full functioning messaging client for any need. To add more functionality and fun, Hike also launched the photo filters & doodles which allow consumers to have fun & users can spice up their photos amongst few other big upgrades in the app.

With version 4.0, Hike also added “News”, it’s a service that allows users on the platform to get quick bite sized news updates in just under 100 characters. Within 24 hours of the launch, “News” already has over a million people actively using the service on a daily basis.

On a monthly basis, in an around 20 billion messages exchanged and the number has doubled in less than a year since the company’s previous announcement of 10 billion monthly messaging volume in August last year.

He further adds.

“We’re not stopping here. We’ve got a lot more coming. Expect us to release one big new feature on top of this every month until the end of the year.”
