Google has partnered with HTC for the latest nexus tablet – Google Nexus 9 at a price tag of $399 for 16GB, $479 for 32GB and the LTE model with 32GB costs $599 respectively. It will be up for preorders on October 17 and goes on sale on November 3.
On the specifications front, it features 8.9-inch screen with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels at a aspect ratio of 4:3 and the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It has double tap to wake feature. It is powered by 64-bit dual-core NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor which clocks at 2.3GHz and it is paired with Kepler DX11 GPU. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB in-built memory.
On the imaging front, it features 8MP rear-camera with LED flash and 1.6MP camera for selfie & video-calling.
It measures 8.9 x 6.05 x 0.31-inch and weighs 425g.
It has connectivity features like NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Chromecast and Micro USB.
It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and packs 6700mAh battery.
It also comes with dual-front facing speakers with HTC BoomSound. It is thinner, lighter and comes with thin bezel with bruised metal sides. It features a soft touch back. Overall the tablet looks premium.
Google is also presenting Nexus 9 as a productivity device as it comes with optional keyboard flip case that can be attached to tablet magnetically and it can be rotated across different angles. Similar to laptop, one can also keep the device on the lap.
