On the World Photography Day, Canon India has organised number of activates to promote the culture of photography & indulge photography enthusiasts, hobbyists, as well as school children.

Along with offering advanced products and services, we, at Canon, have been making continuous efforts to highlight the art of photography and developing creative routes to reach out to customers in the most innovative way. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Andrew Koh, Vice President, Consumer Imaging and Information Centre, Canon India,
“Photography continues to resonate as one of the most embraced vocation and avocation. Capturing your most precious moments with a simple click preserve them forever, photography has evolved over the years to become a passion for people across the world. In India, photography industry is reconfiguring itself by manifesting in the form of growing interest in higher functionality compact and digital SLR cameras. We continue to reach out to the smallest of towns and cities in the country to engage with consumers, as we believe in promoting the art of photography and the power it entails.”
The activities start from 10th August to 16th August, an inter-school online photography contest was conducted in 60 selected schools across the country. This contest was conducted by EOS Academy and garnered a lot of excitement in the school children of various ages. Some interesting prizes were given away, including the latest Canon cameras like the IXUS 275HS compact camera, as well as the latest Selphy CP1000 compact photo printer.
Canon India also conducted a photography contest for its own employees giving them the theme “Colours”, to go out and shoot on. The The grand prize for this was an EOS 1200D, Canon’s latest budget DSLR.
In addition to these contests, Canon also organized a number of workshops across the country for various Photography associations and photography institutes.
